Pollux is named for the brightest star in Gemini — the one sailors trusted when everything else moved. Thirty-five years in, that’s still the whole idea.

✦  01 — WHERE WE STARTED

In 1989, in Evansville, Indiana, we started with a simple observation: physicians were spending more time fighting for payment than practicing medicine. Claims bounced back for reasons nobody could explain. Revenue leaked out of practices in a hundred small ways no one had time to trace.

So we became the people who traced it. Not with software alone — with billers and coders who learned each payer’s habits the way a pilot learns weather, and who took it personally when a clean claim came back denied.

✦  02 — HOW WE GREW

Word traveled the way it does in medicine — one physician telling another. Billing became full revenue cycle management: charge capture, denial management, AR follow-up, credentialing. A Midwest company became a national one, though we never moved the headquarters and never intend to.

Along the way we built a small constellation of our own — Gemini Technology Solutions and Mercury Group — so that the systems, the people, and the process could all live under one roof instead of three vendors pointing at each other.

Today, Pollux serves practices across the country, from solo physicians to multi-site specialty groups. The measures we obsess over haven’t changed: clean claim rates that stay high, days in AR that stay low, denials that get worked instead of written off.
